Congratulation to Warren for speaking at the Houses of Parliament during ABI week
We were contacted to ask if any of our members wanted to share their story of ABI at the Houses of Parliament during ABI Week. Warren went to speak. You can read his reflections of the experience below:

- "I was very fortunate and humbled to have such a wonderful opportunity to speak in the Houses of Parliament last month on behalf of Headway. Even with my memory it was a day that neither me or my daughter who flew over to support me will ever forget. It’s such an incredible place to be and was just such an amazing experience. Richard and Colin who organised and arranged the event were fantastic.
- It really was so inspiring being lucky enough to be in the presence of other survivors and hearing their stories and what they have gone through and overcome and to be able to share a small fraction of my story with them as well. You can’t help but be humbled by their determination in all they do. I felt so incredibly proud to be part of such an amazing and important event and also left there inspired myself to try and do more going forward. I’m so grateful to everyone involved with Headway and I will always be eternally grateful to them and everyone involved for not only allowing me to be part of such an incredible event but also all they do for all of us day in and day out. Without Headway and the incredible individuals like Philip, Fleur, Colin and Richard I wouldn’t still be here now. Thank Headway you so very very much."
HWL collaboration with 'Dear Annie, I Hate You'
In May, we collaborated with Wild Geese Productions on their production of Dear Annie, I Hate You; a play exploring one woman’s experience of brain aneurysm. As part of this, we collaborated in two ways:
HWL members artwork and poems- various members shared their artwork and poems, which we put up in foyer space to form part of an exhibition for people to see when entering and exiting the performance.
Members Q&A- Two HWL members were invited to the post performance, where they took part in a Q&A to talk about their experience of brain injury and HWL
Thank you to all the members who got involved. We had some lovely feedback from show goers and it was amazing to partner with the team behind such a great play, that shone a light on living with a brain injury.
