We were very pleased to welcome Davina Richardson, who is a physiotherapist and very involved in the Major Trauma Unit at St Mary's Hospital. Davina gave a dynamic and interesting talk about how to do physiotherapy at home. It can be an abrupt transition when people first go home after being in hospital for their brain injury. We hope this talk was useful and look forward to the next one!
Here's some feedback we had from one of our members, Nicky:
"Last week a second successful lecture in the Headway Viewpoints series was held in the spacious and comfortable Board Room of Charing Cross Hospital, it was a fun and enjoyable evening. Davina Richardson a physiotherapist at St Mary’s Hospital Major Trauma Centre gave an upbeat and positive presentation. She answered diverse questions and challenged seemingly stuck and negative thought patterns by offering simple but realistic solutions which could be incorporated and achieved by anyone in their home. Lots of laughter and wonderful input came from the participants attending. Davina made what sometimes seems like the impossible, uncomplicated and possible. The evening was conclude by an opportunity to chat and meet the other participants over drinks and nibbles. I went home smiling, feeling that exercise could be more joyful and simply incorporated into my daily routine."
All our Headway Insights talks will be uploaded onto this webpage so you listen to them again, or catch up on them if you weren't able to come to the talk itself.
